For our inaugural Mandela Day activation, Purple Group rented out the Midrand Action Sports centre to host a sports day against other organisations.
In our very first event of this kind, we were joined by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and Gibbs, where we managed to raise over R25 000 toward our sanitation objectives.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we won't be able to hold another action-packed sports day this year. However we will continue to raise funds as we look to come back better than ever, ready to take on other organisations!
We want to bring joy and laughter to as many children in our community as we can, and we hit our target in our first festive period as Purple MAP.
Our Christmas Gift Drive in 2019 saw Purple MAP collect and make hundreds of toys and package them for each of the 120+ children at the camp.
With the help and support of our community, we personally collected and wrapped gifts for all of the underprivileged kids at the shelter, and delivered them before Christmas Day.
With the onset of the national lockdown in March 2019, Purple Group staff dug into their own pockets to raise funds for food parcels for those living in the Turffontein refuge camp.
We managed to raise over R25 000 in March toward the food programme executed by St Patrick's church.
The lockdown appears to be far from over, as we look to tap directly into the EasyEquities community to provide assistance to our cause.

Our first CSI project for 2021 will be focused to help our furry friends in need. We have chosen SARAC (Soweto Animal Rescue and Advisory) to lend a helping hand.
Their mission is to improve the living conditions of animals in Soweto and its surroundings by educating and changing people’s attitudes towards animals.
All money raised will be used to purchase these items and donate them to SARAC. Please don’t be shy to ask anyone else you know that would be keen to get involved.
Blankets For Peeps & Pets
For most of us, the idea of winter means cuddling under the blanket for warmth, switching on your electric blankie, lying in our comfort zone and sipping coffee or hot chocolate sitting beside the gas heater. But for those on the streets, with every drop in the temperatures it’s a fight for survival.
We at The Purple MAP want to distribute blankets and provide food to the homeless. Become a part of our movement to help the Turffontein residents. With a small amount donated by you, we at The Purple MAP can buy a blanket and provide warmth to those in need.
Winter is already here. Your simple kind gesture can save a life or two.
